Iraqi Freedom
March 20, 2003 - To free the Iraqi people from a dictator
who was feared to have weapons of mass destruction, the United
States military entered Iraqi, disarmed the regime and is helping
the Iraqi people to form their own government.

- In
response to the attacks on September 11th, the United States and
its allies begin strikes against al Qaeda training camps and the
Taliban regime in Afghanistan.
Gulf
War
January
16 - February 27, 1991
- Iraq
invades Kuwait on August 2, 1990. The United Nations declares war
on Iraq from January 16 - February 27, 1991 and 148 Americans die
liberating Kuwait and one is still listed as a prisoner of war.
1964
-January 1973 - The United States sent troops to help South Vietnam
fight the Vietcong rebels and North Vietnamese invading their country.

In
the 1970's, we wore Prisoner of War (P.O.W.) Bracelets bearing the
name of a POW or MIA. We did this to keep this person in our hearts and
minds, even if we did not know them personally. We proudly wore
these bracelets, and some still do, as a symbol of hope that the
P.O.W.'s and M.I.A.'s would return to their families alive. )
